Small metal particles in the plastic melting process often cause costly damage to injection molds, extruders, and blow molds. The amount of such metal contaminants increases during the processing of regranulates and regrind. As a result, clogged nozzles, filters, and hot runner systems can cause production interruptions and delivery delays.
The PROTECTOR metal separator is mounted directly above the feeder of an injection molding unit, extruder, or blow molding unit.
It detects all magnetic and non-magnetic metal contaminants (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc.), even when embedded in the product. Metal contaminants are rejected by the "Quick Flap" separation unit.
