Bandera Twin PIR® – Recovery of Industrial Film Waste
Bandera Twin PIR® is a co-rotating twin-screw recycling extrusion system developed to recover industrial plastic waste generated during production processes and convert it back into high-value raw materials.
Designed particularly for the recovery of cross-linked technical films and multilayer barrier films such as PE/PA/EVOH, Twin PIR® can enable up to 100% reprocessing of production waste.
Developed for Technical Films and Multilayer Structures
Not every type of production waste can be easily processed with a standard recycling system. Multilayer, printed or cross-linked films in particular require a more controlled extrusion process due to their material structure.
Bandera Twin PIR® has been developed for the reprocessing of these types of industrial production waste.

Direct Feeding Without Pre-Treatment
One of the key features of Twin PIR® is its ability to force-feed material directly into the extrusion chamber without requiring a pre-treatment process such as densification.
This configuration provides an advantage particularly when processing films containing thermo-sensitive resins and helps reduce the risk of material property degradation caused by pre-treatment.
Self-Cleaning Twin-Screw Technology
The special screw profile developed by Bandera provides the screws with self-cleaning characteristics.
This configuration helps reduce material accumulation and stagnation inside the extruder, contributing to a lower risk of black spot formation.
Controlled Process with Short Residence Time
Keeping the material residence time inside the Twin PIR® extruder short helps reduce the thermal and mechanical stress to which the material is exposed.
This feature is particularly important when reprocessing sensitive and technical film waste.
Up to 100% Recovery of Industrial Waste
Bandera's co-rotating twin-screw system can enable up to 100% reprocessing of production waste under suitable process conditions.
The objective is not only to convert waste into pellets, but also to support an upcycling approach by transforming production waste into a reusable, high-value raw material.
Flexible Configuration and Options
Twin PIR® can be configured with various auxiliary equipment according to different production requirements.
Optional equipment includes:
- Grinder
- Silo Buffer
- Oil-cooled extruder
- Water-cooled motor
- Melt Pump
- Vibrating screen for pellet cooling and separation
- Pellet storage system
These equipment options can be selected according to the characteristics of the material to be processed and the requirements of the production process.
