Bandera Twin PCR® – Polyolefin PCR Recycling Extruder
Bandera Twin PCR® is a high-performance recycling extrusion system developed for the recycling of post-consumer plastic waste (Post-Consumer Recycling – PCR). Suitable for processing heterogeneous polyolefin materials, Twin PCR® is designed to produce high-value recycled pellets from recycling feedstocks with different physical characteristics.
Configurable for different material groups such as HDPE, PP, PS, PC/ABS and flexible film PCR, Twin PCR® provides solutions for polyolefin recycling applications through its stable process structure, flexible feeding system and double-filtration strategy.
Recycling of Heterogeneous Polyolefin Waste
PCR materials may have different densities, physical forms and contamination levels. Bandera Twin PCR® is designed to adapt to this variable feedstock structure.
The system can be used for recycling different materials such as:
- HDPE PCR
- PP PCR
- PS PCR
- PC/ABS PCR
- Flexible film PCR
PC/ABS applications can particularly include materials originating from automotive and WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) sources.
Stable and Controlled Extrusion Process
In the Twin PCR® system, the gear pump operates together with the partial-filling principle of the extrusion chamber, contributing to reduced process fluctuations and a more stable extrusion process.
This structure helps maintain controlled processing despite variations in the characteristics of the recycling feedstock.
Double-Filtration Strategy
One of the key features of Bandera Twin PCR® is its double-filtration strategy.
Bandera's process approach enables two-stage filtration to be applied in order to recover value even from more challenging recycling feedstocks. The filtration system can be configured according to the raw material used and process requirements.
Flexible Raw Material Feeding System
Twin PCR® can be configured to feed recycling materials with different physical characteristics into the system.
The system can be adapted to different feed forms such as:
- Low-density flexible fluff
- Rigid flakes
- Materials in pellet form
Depending on the feedstock characteristics, volumetric, forced-feeding or gravimetric dosing systems can be used.
High-Value Recycled Pellets
Bandera's approach to Polyolefin PCR technology focuses not only on reprocessing waste but also on transforming recycled material into a new secondary raw material.
Twin PCR® has been developed to process heterogeneous PCR sources and convert them into recycled pellets that can be used in different applications.

PC/ABS PCR applications may include materials originating from automotive and WEEE sources. In flexible film PCR applications, materials obtained particularly from sources such as agricultural and geotechnical films can be processed.
Difference Between Twin PCR® and Twin Tandem PCR®
Within Bandera's Polyolefin PCR product family, Twin PCR® and Twin Tandem PCR® are positioned as solutions for different feedstock and process requirements.
Twin PCR® is a flexible recycling solution for processing materials such as HDPE, PP, PS, PC/ABS and flexible film PCR.
Twin Tandem PCR® is a separate technology in which two co-rotating twin-screw extruders operate in a cascade configuration, providing more advanced filtration and degassing capabilities particularly for heavily contaminated, heavily printed, metallized or more challenging PCR materials.
