General Features
EC Series continuous extrusion blow-molding machines are the ideal solution for producing multilayer products from high-melt-strength HDPE. In ECT versions, the parison is mechanically transferred from the extrusion head to the mold, while in ECS versions the mold-closing unit moves toward the extrusion head to pick up the parison. Both ECT and ECS versions represent the top segment of continuous extrusion blow-molding machines for industrial applications: high output and exceptional precision.
The mold-closing unit features a single-cylinder, twin-column design. Machine components that may be subjected to deflection during transmission of the clamping force are designed independently of the platens to which the mold is mounted. This ensures perfect planarity and parallelism between the two mold halves under all operating conditions.
Mold changes are performed from above: the upper platform carrying the extrusion head moves backward, completely opening the area above the clamping unit. All movements are performed by electric motors and controlled by position sensors. This allows the extrusion head to return quickly and accurately to the correct position stored in the recipe for each mold.
The height of the bottom-blowing unit can be adjusted electrically. The unit can be moved easily to a standby position where it contacts either half of the open mold, enabling easy and precise adjustment of the blow nozzles and opening/spreading mechanisms.
Thanks to extruders with exceptional melting efficiency — high output with low energy consumption — and variable-speed hydraulic pumps, EC Series models achieve the highest energy-efficiency class under the EUROMAP 46.1 procedure for extrusion blow-molding machines: Class 10 — below 0.29 kWh/kg HDPE.
