Bandera Barrier FLEX
Multilayer High-Barrier Film Extrusion Lines
Bandera Barrier FLEX® comprises 7, 9 and 11-layer blown film extrusion lines developed for packaging and technical film applications requiring high barrier performance.
Films produced with Barrier FLEX® offer a high level of barrier performance against gases and water vapor by combining a central EVOH barrier layer with intermediate PA layers.
Designed for the production of both symmetrical and asymmetrical film structures, Barrier FLEX® provides a flexible and advanced technological solution particularly for manufacturers requiring high-performance technical films.
High Barrier Performance
The main advantage of Barrier FLEX® technology is the combination of different barrier layers within an optimized multilayer film structure.
Through the use of high-performance barrier materials such as EVOH and PA, the following properties can be achieved:
- High barrier against gases,
- High barrier against water vapor,
- High mechanical performance,
- Optimum material utilization within a multilayer film structure

7, 9 and 11-Layer Film Technology
The Barrier FLEX® range can be configured as 7, 9 or 11-layer blown film lines according to different product and process requirements.
The multilayer structure allows different polymers and functional layers to be combined within a single film.
This configuration enables different properties such as barrier performance, mechanical strength, adhesion and processability to be optimized within the same film.
Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Film Structures
Barrier FLEX® is suitable for the production of both symmetrical and asymmetrical film structures.
Bandera also provides special solutions designed to reduce the curling effect that may occur in asymmetrical film structures.
High-Barrier Film Production with EVOH and PA
Functional materials such as EVOH and PA can be used with Barrier FLEX® to produce films with high barrier properties.
In a typical high-barrier film structure, EVOH is positioned as the central barrier layer, while PA layers support the overall performance of the structure.
This configuration allows the film to be designed to meet the following requirements within a single product:
Gas Barrier + Water Vapor Barrier + Mechanical Performance

In previous Barrier FLEX applications by Bandera, high-barrier films have been produced with 7-layer structures containing PE, PA and EVOH, while symmetrical and asymmetrical film structures have been used for different applications.
