IML (In-Mold Labeling) is an advanced automation technology in which pre-printed labels are applied to a plastic product during manufacturing and become an integral part of the finished product.
In the IML process, labels are automatically picked and precisely positioned inside the mould before plastic injection begins. Keeping the label correctly adhered to the mould surface without shifting during injection is critical to product quality.

Special EOAT (End-of-Arm Tooling) robot grippers are used in IML applications to pick, transport and position labels inside the mould.
These grippers are designed to follow the mould geometry precisely. A vacuum circuit holds the label on the gripper, and after positioning inside the mould, an electrostatic charge is applied so the label adheres to the mould surface.
