General Features
At each bend in the classifier channel, the product must pass through the air stream and then rebound against the opposite classifier wall. During this process, higher-density material sinks downward in the classifier channel due to gravity. Light material is drawn upward through the classifier channel by the rising air stream.
The fan air speed is adjusted by a customer-supplied frequency converter. For maintenance and service work, maintenance doors are provided on both sides of the zig-zag classifier, along with maintenance openings on the rotary valves.
The air classifier can be adjusted in depth and operated either in exhaust-air or recirculation mode. Discharged air is cleaned by a downstream filter system or cyclone separator.
Machine:
The machine separates a wide variety of bulk materials according to specific gravity, shape and size.
Options
Depending on the application or the abrasiveness of the material to be separated, various wear-lining options are available, including HARDOX, PU, stainless steel and ceramic.
Complete stainless-steel versions and surface coatings tailored to requirements are also available.
The material to be separated enters the zig-zag classifier through a rotary valve and is distributed across the full cross-section of the classification channel. Classification air generated by the blower flows through the classifier from bottom to top, washing and separating the bulk material.
